June in The Yoga Portal

Inner Cycles

Before the cycles of a work schedule dictated when you could sleep, eat, bathe, and rest, the inner cycles of your body ruled over your rhythms.

There are continuous cycles of the seasons, the moon and tides, the sun, and rain that regulate the course of all life, revealing the interdependence of everything that exists within the natural world.

Hands of an invisible sacred clock turn, and between birth and death lay an endless spiral of life; marking the time for expansion, contraction, action, rest, and beginning again.

Our inner cycles are in constant flux and guide us like migrating salmon and monarch butterflies. When you take notice of the cycles of your body, and choose to live in accordance with its seasons, something remarkable happens. You become connected. You stop measuring time by the cycles of capitalism and return home to your body. You begin to see yourself as part of a greater whole that is constantly regenerating itself.

This month dedicated to noticing and preparing for your inner cycles will offer movement and mindfulness support for all your moments of wax and wane, honoring the parts of yourself that go unseen while returning to a whole and balanced self.

“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.”
